I am a chord guy. Although I do finger pick in private. In my 50+ years of playing I have always had a problem w/ the left hand. The pinkie finger on the left hand would cramp up! Ergo, I could do no Rifs...I am now looking at a Bass player & all he is doing w/ his left hand is Palming it!

i can only play the riff at 3:45... we need a music day. I can show you the basic stuff he's playing. All it takes is practice, practice.
by the by...a little name-dropping... a guy I work with is married to the bass player who actually played on this song. His name is Bakithi Kumalo. I actually jammed with him in Bethlehem, PA. Really nice guy from South Africa and an amazing bass player. Look up that name, there are some great videos of him. That's it, i'm done.

just noticed my comment above... let me clarify. The SISTER of a guy I work with is married to Bakithi Kumalo... the guy I work with, his name is Prentis Hall. Interesting name, don't you think?

TY for the clarification blaze. I did wonder about the marital status. btw, Prentice Hall is the name of a big time publishing co that was bought by Simon & Schuster, which was taken over by some other big time publishing house. Simon & Schuster was founded by Carly Simon's Dad many years ago. And of course Carly was married to James Taylor whose Dad was not a Tailor but the Dean of a Medical College. I could go on...
