Went to see the VA doc today for a checkup

I've heard it said that the VA Health Care System is a precursor

for all medical care systems.

I got the usual preliminary questions from the nurse prior

to seeing the doctor...

1. What's your pain level today
2. Any thoughts of suicide
3. Have you taken a fall since your last visit
4. signs of blood anywhere
5. are you pooping ok
6. any shortness of breath
7. etc, etc

But then she asked me two new questions

1. Do you fear where you live?
2. Is there anyone that you fear?

I was taken aback! I laughed. The nurse just stared at me.

I answered no to each question & we moved on...
