An ice cream story.

Sunday I had a craving for ice cream. I went to the local Ice Cream Speciaty Shop for a cone. Had never been there before. When I walked in I saw many people sitting at tables and (I counted them) nine people in line. Must be a good place for ice cream I thought. Looking at the Menu I saw a plethora of choices. I say plethora 'cause that's what someone that's a Starbucks freak told me about the choices there.

But I scoped in on the cost of a Scoop. A Scoop would cost me $4.90. Extra Scoops were an additional $1.20. So, I did the math. My double scoop of ice cream on a sugar cone was going to cost me  $6.10. Do they tax ice cream cones? I think they do and I left the store.

Well,  I just ate my fifth black cherry & buttered almond double scoop on a sugar cone since Sunday! Cause I went to Turkey Hill (a Philiies sponser) and bought two half gallons of my favorites. Buy one get one free. And at $4.99 a half gallon, I left with two halves for $4.99 and a box of 12 sugar cones...Total bill? $6.42 and I still have enough for seven more cones of double deckers.

Now that's smart shopping!

My vote for Video of the month...

Susan celebrated a big birthday this month. We went up to Cape Cod and hung out with the Evans family.  It was like a military maneuver... we met Chris at Newark airport on a Friday morning (he flew in on a red-eye flight) and then we went into NYC's Upper West Side to pick up Anna, and then drove to the Cape like the old days... kids and dogs.

It was a great weekend and it called for a new birthday song and a video.

Phillies vs. Dodgers Game

Last night Courtney and I went to the Phillies vs. Dodgers game at Dodgers Stadium located in Chavez Ravine, Los Angeles, California. We were able to buy $50 tickets located directly next to the Phillies bullpen. Here are a few pictures and a video wrap-up from our night. All of these were shot using my iPhone and edited on my iPhone using iMovie. Technology is great.

Geologic Wonder: See the Grand Canyon from Space

I cannot make sense of this photo. Having seen the Grand Canyon & knowing that it was formed by the flow of the Colorad River, this photo from space does it no justice. Where is the river that still runs through it?

Geologic processes and timing that formed the Grand Canyon are the subject of debate by geologists, recent evidence suggests that the Colorado River established its course through the canyon at least 17 million years ago. Since that time, the Colorado River continues to erode and form the canyon to its present-day configuration.
