I'm not really enjoying my attempt at Salads

Salads require a lot of different things

and unlike a sandwich that you finish in one sitting,

Salads require storage bags...and refrigeration

I would much prefer a hamburger...

For the History of it...Fifty years ago today, at the Democrat Presidential Convention in Chicago, the United States shifted gears...

It was Viet Nam war time...

• Lyndon B Johnson (who took over as POTUS after JFK got killed in '63)
• decided that he had enough & refused to run for another term

1. we had the VP Humphrey
2. we had Eugene McCarthey (let me tell you parents this: No kid named Eugene will ever be POTUS)
3. and then we had Bobby Kennedy who got killed in June by a Nut job

Ended up that Hubert ran vs Dick & Nixon won.

The Democrats went completly wacko at their Convention in Chicago as you can see...Dem Mayor Daley sent the Police in, backed up by the National Guard w/ batons a swirling & tear gas in the air.

I see so many similarities today (ANTIFA) to the Dems of 1968...& there is so much more to the Story and the history.

By the way, in august of 1968 I was in viet nam. did not read about this stuff 'til a week later.

Got pulled over today

I was in line at Turkey Hill, where if you use your Turkey Hill card you can get as much a 10 cents
(one time I got 20 cents) off per gallon for gas. I was buying coffee & a breakfast sandwhich.

As I was walking out, the two people ahead of me turned around & looked at me. My radar went up.

They held the door for me, I thanked them & then stepped to the side outside...I

Watched them walk to their cars & then actually got a TAP on my shoulder!

When is the last time an actual stranger tapped you on the shoulder?

Turns out the Turkey Hill clerk was calling after me

to tell me that the last digit of my Mac card did not take.

Apparently, everyone in the store heard him except me.

And I was wearing my hearing aids...

of course the clerk

(who was about 22) told me he was also hard of hearing.

and sometimes respond...

Timmy made some kind of a deal with some Carvel guy...

Now we have a custard making machine in the garage!

Marilyn loves vanilla custard!

Timmy told me this morning, "I told Nora that the custard machine

will not be on every day. Too much to clean"

Nora brings home a friend & Poppy makes ice cream!

What a hard of hearing person may reasonably presume while watching TV

Hard of hearing people listen to what you are saying, perk up on certain words and assume
you are speaking about trees when you are really speaking about red light ticket fees!

we think we heard the word 'trees'

then we thought we picked up on the word "light'

so we may say something like:

I agree, trees need to have light!

that's the Ticket!
