Baby on Board and I was a nervous wreck!

Me, Keelan & Blair went on a 2 hour round trip yesterday in my car. It was scary. Thunder storms inundated us, had to follow the brake lights in front of us. Drivers stopped under over-passes while we moved on.  I'm a former Limo Driver (an Elite one I might add) but it is a whole new ball game when you are transporting your niece & her baby in a blinding thunder storm. I mostly stayed in the right lane.

To her credit, Keelan said nothing...she just chewed the stale gum I had in my car. Chewed all 6 pieces I had in my glove compartment...I had no gloves in there.

Pea Eve

There's excitement in the air, it's Pea Eve!  I was reminded by the tenant that I needed to be up early in order to properly decorate for Pea Eve. He was gracious enough to provide a list of the necessary items:
1- smokes
2- nikolai
3- hearing aid batteries
4- solo cups (blue)
5- Coco shaped balloon ornaments
6- grungy blue navy watch caps for attendees
7- oversized athletic shorts for attendees
8- locate a butt for Pea ( he has never had one)
9- gift wrapped harmonica
10- earplugs for landlord & lordess

Scotty? did you get a Ribbon?

Michael Scott Rowen arrived here today after intense Ranger Training in South Carolina & places un- known for the past 6 weeks. I asked the Lieutenant if he got a Ribbon after graduating from the Training Class. Scotty said they used to give a Patch for your sleeve but they no longer do that (sequestration I guess). This Training was sorta a big deal. I saw video of Rappling, Grappling, Hiking and Parachueting, not to mention Shooting!

Anyway, the Ribbon thing got me to thinking of Seinfeld. Jason & I quoted from Seinfeld often on our road trip. I said Jason, Me and Eddie are the only people in our extended family that know Seinfeld!

Keelan gave me this book when I was headed out west. The author was 27 when she hiked from near Mexico to Oregon. She was stupid, brave, sad & lucky. It was a book I'm glad I read and I thank Keelan for sharing.

I think some day this week I will hike to Barney's Restaurant, which is right near the Library.

Just one more story about my trip out West. I promise I'll drop it after this. I flew out there on Virgin America. I got in the Fast Lane for check in...

I went through check in 3 times before I had an "interview" with a Supervisor as to why I was setting off the alarm on my 3rd trip through.

It finally dawned on me that I have a Fake Hip! I had forgotten all about it. They put me through the Body Scan Machine, everybody behind me in line saw my Fake Hip and my penis and I was good to go...! Don't ya just Love Air travel?

On my recent trip to California I asked some poignant questions regarding politics. I asked the kids and the adults. What I learned is that nobody gives a Crap about what is going on in our Nation's Capitol.

A few of my questions:

Who is John Boehner?

Who is the current Secretary of State?

Do you know who Lois Lerner is?

Who is Darrel Issa & who is Elijah Cummings?

What do you know about Benghazi?

Who said, "we have visited all 57 States"?

In what State is Washington, DC?

How many former Secretaries of State can you  name?

Who is buried in Grant's Tomb?

And finally, who is Elon Musk?

I just got grunts, stares, guffaws, middle fingers and other stuff...

I did about 8 hours of a long drive

This Marathon Man did about 320 hours. Or at least it felt that way. It was a tough ride

Rolled into Tulsa

Rolled into Tulsa, OK tonight. That's a total of 22 hours and 1,460 miles in 2 days.

Best buddies...Justin and Amanda

Just like me and three of my brother's who showed up at cousin Ralph's 90th birthday party today, I wish that Justin, Amanda & Luke continue to be buddies well into the future.

John, Me, Michael & Timmy represented Mary & Jack well today...

I was proud of us...and all the girl cousins were photoing away!

Oh yea, and Tommy Schaeffer too...

I like that we siblings still like each other...there were stories told today of other Family stuff

One more thing... silliness...it's good for the soul!

From the West unto the East...

I have never looked through a windshield on a trip from LA to Phila. I have sat on a train from LA to Phila, but the conductor would not allow me to look through his windshield.

As you have heard by now, Jason has been hired by the '76ers and he and Courtney will be returning to the area. What you may not know is that Jason was secretly hired by the '76ers two seasons ago & sent to the Lakers to disrupt their operation! He has exceeded all expectations...since he has been with the Lakers:

• Their owner has died
• Kobe Bryant has had two season ending injuries
• They have gone through two coaches
• Attendance at The Forum is way down
• Dwight Howard, the most sought after Free Agent spent 1 year & left
• Steve Nash has also been hurt & is a shell of his old-self
• Pau Gasol (that 7 foot Spanish guy) is now a Free Agent
• Jason got married
• Courtney got pregnant

And the '76ers have called him home! Mission Accomplished!

I almost forgot. The purpose of the post is to tell you that I will be off the Grid for a-while. Heading to LA on Monday, the 12th. Driving from the West unto the East with Jason. Due back in Phila on the 21st or whatever.

Our cousin Ralph's birthday party is shaping up to be a Shindig!

According to brother John, we will see not only cousin Ralph on his 90th, but many more of the McDermott side of the family! 

That would include Cartwright cousins, Shaeffer cousins, Gladue cousins and maybe even Johnny Joyce will make an appearance!
