The Beatles - Free As A Bird

Apparently, this is old news to long time Beatle fans, but it's new news to me.

Recorded in 1995, fifteen years after Lennon was killed.

📷 Today's pic shows the white peacock that inadvertently wandered into the frame outside the Sussex studio where they recorded FREE AS A BIRD, making the boys believe that John was again with them, given his love of white feathers

Highly appropriate!

I did not know this, but Justin & his roomie went to high school together.
They did not hang in the same crowd but they've known each other for four years!

Mom says they shared no tears saying goodbye.
Justin was too excited & upbeat.
Mom says she will probably cry when they get back home...

The mug shot...

Uh oh! Now they realize that Trump may
Fundraise off his mug shot!

“That's one of the questions about this sort of value of a mug shot in this case. Right? It's, sure, it’s treating Donald Trump if he does get one, the same as any other defendant but you’re also giving him a photo that there’s no doubt that he's gonna use on promotional material, he’s gonna use on fundraising material,” Murray whined.

Acrobatic Bear actually thinking

about tensile strength
and leverage...

Amazing!

Remember Oliver Anthony?

Why The Beatles dumped Peter Best for Ringo

 Peter just didn't get it!

Today in 1960: the first onstage photos of the group called ‘The Beatles' - taken, according to George, on the first night of their first Hamburg stint, at the Indra on Grosse Freiheit.
They would play 48 nights there through October 3. (They were contracted to stay until 16 October, but more about that another time.) And, each paid 30DM (£2.50) per day by the venue's owner Bruno Koschmider, they made a deal with the devil in terms of their performing hours:
8:00-9:30pm, 10:00-11:00pm, 11:30pm-12:30am and 1:00-2:00am during the week; 7:00-8:30pm, 9:00-10:00pm, 10:30-11.30pm, midnight-1:00am and 1:30-3:00am on Saturdays; and 5:00-6:00pm, 6:30-7:30pm, 8:00-9:00pm, 9:30-10:30pm, 11:00-midnight and 12:30-1:30am on Sundays. That's 34.5 weekly hours of singing and playing.
"The city of Hamburg was brilliant," George would recall about his perspective as a 17-year-old. "A big lake and then the dirty part. The Reeperbahn and Grosse Freiheit were the best thing we'd ever seen, clubs and neon lights everywhere and lots of restaurants and entertainment. It looked really good."
And so it would turn out to be, in more ways than one...

McK Bros Martin Visit_To Be Alone with You

August is the month we fear the Yellow Jacket!

Why Do Yellow Jackets Seem More Aggressive at the End of the Summer Season?

yellow jacketsOf the various types of wasps, yellow jackets have one of the fiercest reputations. Thoughts of them usually conjure mental images of airborne hostility and repeated painful stings.

Why Are Yellow Jackets So Aggressive?

Stepping in a yellow jacket ground nest can be flat-out dangerous. Yellow jackets are social insects, so they instinctively collaborate for the good of the nest. Unfortunately for those who encounter them, that includes defending the nest. Not only will yellow jackets chase you for yards, if not further, but they can also sometimes swarm, leaving you pursued by dozens to hundreds of them. If you are allergic or suffer multiple stings from encountering a swarm, there is the possibility of anaphylactic shock and possibly even death.

Are Yellow Jackets Aggressive to Humans?

Yes, they are highly aggressive. Yellow jackets will not only attack you but also chase you away, stinging you the whole time. Medicine.net notes that an average of 100 people per year die from reactions to yellow jacket stings.

Why Are Yellow Jackets Aggressive in the Fall?

There are a few factors, starting with dwindling food sources. As cold weather starts to arrive and gardens are less productive, the amount of available food plummets, and just like humans, yellow jackets get more surly when hungry. Combine this with population pressures because their colony has reached the maximum level, and you get some angry insects. Queens usually build their nests in late spring / early summer, and the rest of the time until fall is consumed by a breeding cycle that can sometimes produce up to 5,000 yellow jackets. That is certainly a lot of mouths to feed on short rations.
