I have been watching MSNBC & CNN for the past two months
& I've been hearing that social security checks are in danger of being frozen by the Trump/ Musk team & us senior citizens are aghast!
I also heard that the VA (where I get 99% of my health care)
is also being gutted! I was there last Thursday &
everything seemed normal.
What's going on here? The News is so depressing... should I tune into a different News channel or what?

Minnesota GOP wants to officially define ‘Trump derangement syndrome’ as mental illness...
“Trump derangement syndrome” is defined as “acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal persons that is in reaction to the policies and presidencies of President Donald J. Trump,” according to the bill.
“Symptoms may include Trump-induced general hysteria, which produces an inability to distinguish between legitimate policy differences and signs of psychic pathology in President Donald J. Trump’s behavior,” the proposal reads.
Do you think Governor Walz will sign the bill into law?

POST Update! After the pro-Donald Trump Republican introduced a bill on Monday to add “Trump derangement syndrome” (“TDS”) to the state’s statutory definition of mental illness, he was arrested for attempting to solicit sex from someone he thought was a teenage girl, police say.

Social Security Checks Could Stop Going Out by April, Ex-Head Warns...
On Monday, top Senate Democrats—including Sens. Chuck Schumer of New York, Patty Murray of Washington, and Ron Wyden of Oregon—held a press conference to denounce the Trump administration and DOGE for trying to “destroy” the agency.
“It is hard to believe that the Trump administration wants to cut Social Security, but that’s what’s happening,” Schumer said.
“We’re in a pincer move that shows just what they’re up to,” he said, noting the agency’s plan to fire 7,000 workers and Musk’s recent comments decrying the program as a “Ponzi scheme.”
Democrats in the House have also sounded the alarm.
“The Trump administration is putting Social Security benefits at risk by firing the staff who help beneficiaries and closing down the offices that serve communities across the country,” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said in a statement earlier this week.
