The first time I can recall feeling truly sad was when I heard that Uncle Harry died. What year was that ?

My Uncle Harry memory: "KIDS, KIDS, KIDS. I HATE KIDS!" ha! ha! ha! He loved us all.
For some strange reason I remember the date, November 1st - All Saints Day, I believe. I remember Mother answering the phone (just between the living room and dining room, I believe) and being very sad. I remember thinking it was All Saints Day. It's what I remember and believe. If I am wrong, I still believe!!!

that is true! I remember that quote!
In answer to the question, "When did Uncle Harry die?" I believe it was 1963 or 1964.

Uncle Harry's death was sad. Aunt Kate's was sad. But I'm still crying over Danny Shaef's death. Shot in the back by a Rottweiler on Ogontz!!
how about that construction worker that fell from a scaffold when they were building St Benedicts? That freaked me out!
