Are the Phillies Dead?

This time last week I thought the Phillies had some "Mojo" going, after sweeping the Mets. That mojo was going to be enuff to carry them to either the Divsion lead or to Wild Card spot. Today, after hearing the dramatic loss to the Braves, it feels like the Phillies are dead.

Put a fork in 'em. Done. Pea, what did you think about Mitch Williams going off on Cole Hamels because he said, "if we're in the playoffs I'll come back."

I think the kid was saying the right thing. If they need me, I'll be there. Why be a hero and ruin the one good arm they have.

The didn't call Williams "Wild Thing" for nuttin.

This is Not a Pea Post! Sometimes you need to check the Poster...Having said that, howsomever, I am clueless as to what the Wild Thing said about Hamels. I cannot Give up on the Phils! I have seen the Magic work in 1980 and I will always remember the Joy! I am one of the Fortunate Phila Fans that has seen (in my lifetime) The Eagles win the Title! The Flyers win a Championship! The Sixers Win One! and the Philadelphia Phillies Win One!

it's not so bad being a Fan from Philadelphia

Hey, I'm with Johnny Marzano. He said the same thing as Slim. Cole is the best arm they have. Of course Johnny had to tell a story about his career. How he had the same sore arm and decided to push thru it and ended up with Tommy John surgery. He could never throw the same after that. Don't risk Cole now...not at 22. He'd end up like Kerry Wood from the Cubs. Johnny & Slim know what they're talkin' about.

Now let me figure this out... Eagles win in '60, Flyers win in '74 & '75, Phils win in '80, and Sixers win in '82. I might have a year or two screwed up, but that's it. So that gives us 5 titles. Eagles 1 every 47 yrs; Flyers 2 every 32 yrs; Phils 1 every 57 yrs (they won the pennant in 1950) and Sixers 1 every 25 yrs. Wow, that is 5 titles in 161 seasons. Don't tty to figure the winning percentage, it isn't worth it.
