The IRONPIGS Open Season this Sunday... Does anyone outside of the Lehigh Valley Care?

Very cool, brand new ballpark and just a quick trip up (or down if you're Patty & Kevin - they probably don't care though) the Northeast Extension and you can see a Lehigh Valley IRONPIGS Triple-A baseball game. Tickets approx. $9. Only about 15 minutes from Eddie and Susan's house. Exhibition game this Sunday vs those Phightin' Phils. Their mascot's name is "Ferrous" (as in IRON). "Pork Chop" was the first name they had until they were told it was a slur against the Hispanic community. What do you think? Can you suggest a better name for the mascot? Does anyone care?

Gotta love it...baseball at the minor league level and at the major league level, has never been healthier...in spite of the idiots who try to denegrate this great game, with their steroids etc...shame on you Clemens, Rose,Mcguire...The game is bigger than the players...long live the Game! Go Iron Pigs...Good luck!

I love it! The trip to Scranton for a minor league game was a little to far. This is a great trip.

I also like the name. Minor league teams are supposed to have wacky names like:
Rancho Cucamonga Quakes
Toledo Mud Hens...

No one Knows what a "Ferrous" Is!!! Why not just name the Mascot "PIG"?

My dear Pea,
FERROUS is not a thing (noun) it is a descriptive word (adjective) meaning "of or containing IRON". Proper useage, "My diet is full of Ferrous".
St. Columba's edition.
