Certainly the most important birthdays occur in May. Do all individuals with birthdays in May celebrate "half-birthdays" or is that unique to my Wife?
Looking at who is celebrating a May birthday and recalling what MAYDAY!, MAYDAY!, is used for and you can see the conncetion.
Plus yelling AUGUSTDAY!, AUGUSTDAY!, just doesn't sound right before you sink or crash into the ocean.
