There I am taking 6, 16 oz. beer glasses down to the basement bar. Easy enough. 3 in each hand, gripped by the fingers in the glasses. Put glasses on the table. Open the door. Pickup the glasses. Try to close the door while holding the glasses in each hand. No can do. Put the glasses in the right hand down and close the door. Go to pickup the glasses and my longsleeve shirt is caught in the door. Can't reach the door. My left hand is holding 3 glasses. A MICHAEL MOMENT. How do these goofy things happen? Running through my mind at that very second is a mental image of Michael in his Exxon togs watching the car pull off with the hose still attached. a Michael moment redux...went w/ M on Sat for an "airing". We had to stop at his ATM for $$$.He told me to watch out for the curb! He xplained that he, the wife, the sister & brother in-law were headed for Niagara Falls on Vacation. Had to stop for $$$. M hit the curb & blew out the right front tire! (i am not making this stuff up!) They crawled to a gas station to change the tire. Could not find the spare after searching for 15 minutes. Finally found it on the swing door they opened to search under their vacation baggage...proceeded to Niagara Falls (w/out a Spare) & had a wonderful time! Ask him about it!
Unfortunately, these and many other stories are true. It's been an interesting "ride", I must say...Kate has told these and many other stories, over and over, thru the years...laughs her butt off everytime! ...By the way, it was a Mobil outfit, not an Exxon unnie...remeber it was 1973 the "oil shortage" crisis was in full swing...Good Grief Charlie Brown!!
...thus, it was "Mobil MIke"...
I can laugh in the middle of the day remembering that wonderful golf outing with Dad and Michael nailed the poor ol' guy TWICE!!! First, with a golf club...Second, with a wicked tee shot to the cart.
For those of us that have never heard the MobilMike story, please tell.
how about the 7 parked cars that were hit on Olney Avenue when a BEE flew in the window ?
Mobil Mike story as well as the parking lot "sweeper cleaner" story have to be told in person - hand gestures and facial expressions are a must. Stories promise to be told July 5th at Timmy's...
...the storyteller
along with the UPS Golf Outing story that Timmy invited the Cooker to and the Cooker, while shaking the Ketchup, sprayed the Boss of Timmy's Bosses Boss. Who was wearing Linen shorts and a white shirt and white Golf shoes !
Ugh....
