A Career Opportunity...?
If you can type fast and are a person that enjoys researching a Topic, perhaps TV closed captioning "Input Technichan" is an opportunity for you.
A lot more people than you realize rely on "captioning" when they watch TV. It is amazing how inadequate the translations are. Whether it is News, Sports, Sitcoms, Documentaries, whatever, the people that type this stuff are MORONS !
Try watching closed caption News for 15 minutes and you will see what I mean!
What's a deaf person to do ?

How about if we have a major sporting event without Referees, Umpires, Judges or Stewards? I Love that a 65 to one shot did ...

That is to true! Sometimes the captions are downright funny or embarrasing; do you agree? Don't the "typists" even LISTEN to what's being said? I think some of them are DEAF too...sometimes the captions "sound like" what's being said, but are not even CLOSE to what they should be saying.
Wonder what they get paid to do such a lousy job?........hm......??
The captions are on sometimes at the gym- they are hysterical because they are horrible!!!! Live news is the worst. But try listening to music and getting distracted by the captions! What IS a deaf person to do?? Hopefully they are not blind so they can read the paper, a more reliable source!

Let's get this straight... Don't be distracted. When you go to the gym, PLAY BALL. No music, no reading, no talking with other participants, Just concentrate on annihilating (?) your opponent. "Nuf Said!"
according to "closed captioning" there are two Padre Hall of Famers, Tony Quinn and Dave Winfeld!
