Many years ago, in the early 80's, I was with some friends in NYC. Some of my friends went to Univ of Delaware. The original Phanatic went to the Univ of Delaware, Dave Raymond was his name. We all went for a ride thru the streets of NYC in his Philly Phanatic van and we went to a place that made the costumes for the Sesame Street puppets - that's who made his costume. Anywho...I got to wear the head piece. It was funky smelling and in need or repair, that's why he was in NYC. This was all in the days before my handy little video camera so, I have no proof.

More recently, years ago, the Phanatic (or someone in his costume) was at an event at Anna's school. The Phanatic was dancing around the crowd and of course, saw me and my stupid bald head and came right to me. He started rubbing my head. I hated the Phanatic that night.

I share Blaze's predicament about pre-video camera days. When the Pope was in town in 1976 he and I were sharing a Stoli and I asked him, "Pope, were you ever touched by the Phanatic." "Nyet" he says to me. Soes I call the Phanatic and we meet at the Loch Ness Monster's house and invite a few other friends over. Bert and Ernie showed up they brought along Little Bo Peep, The Little Engine that Could and the Hardy Boys. We had a blast. Rin Tin Tin was the designated driver and he was busy all night long. You shoulda seen him in the Popemobile. Talk about funny! LOL!!

But not a camera to be found. I share your pain Blaze, I share your pain.

The little lady and I had the honor of seeing Pope John Paul II at Aquaduct race track in NY. We were two of about 75,000. But it was a great day. That was mid 90's
I have never seen so many nuns since my days at St. Columba's. That's in Swamp poodle.
