Not to Worry; I'm Alive..

Mild earthquake shakes Lancaster County

You were probably all worried about your Lanco relatives and wondering if we all survived THE EARTHQUAKE last night. Not to worry we lived through it. At a few minutes past midnight as my favorite grand daughter was visiting the bathroom (Name witheld to protect her vanity),as my "your turn to sit up with Ronan" son-in-law was headed back to bed at the top of his stairs in Lititz, as my son partyed and didn't hear a thing, as my wifey awoke to the clatter, as my other daughter and her hubby thought their house was collapsing, as my eldest grand daughter walked up the stairs and thought her Dad was stomping mad, as my faithful dogs slept through it all, as my eldest daughter and her normally "OMG what was that!" sleeping husband snored through it all, a 3.3 on the Richter scale quake struck just north and west of quaint little Lititz. Two Amish outhouses were destroyed and damages are estimated at over $8.00. Sam and Kelly how do you two live in California? Right now you're all wondering, I'm sure, "What can I do for them?" A Relief for Lanco is being organized. You're asked to send Sis' Irish Soda bread, lots of 'em, to Slim's house for distribution to the needy earthquake survivors. No FEMA trailers required, just lots and lots of soda bread. If you can't bake just plan on attending the "Help the Lanco Quake Victims" fundraiser on Jan 3rd in Oreland. Big cash donations are appreciated. Slim will be distributing that as well. Visa, Mastercard and Amex accepted also. Slim will handle that as well. Anybody know how you apply for Federal Disaster Relief? I have this urge to loot all of a sudden....

This message from the Oreland Relief Center...hold the Soda Bread! I know a scam when I see one..the criminals come out of the woodwork during times like these...I repeat. "NO SODA BREAD" ..Instead, Oreland is requesting some Ham,and some brown potatoes, fresh salad, some greenbeens and a few bottles of Pino Grigio...(don't forget dessert)..to feed the masses and bring some joy to those less fortunate!

...so I should STOP PAYMENT on those $10,000 checks we mailed to the Disaster Relief Offices in Lanco, Oreland and Roxborough? (I thought money would be a little more helpful than 'bread; what did I know.)

WHEW!!! Thanks for the "scam warning", guys!

I hope they catch those crooks!
