We Wish You a Happy Holidays

I don’t usually post, but I thought that this one was too much in Gerald Pea’s wheelhouse to pass up. I just returned from Justin and Amanda’s Holiday Concert. As we all know, you can’t call it a Christmas Concert because that may offend someone. In fact, when Justin’s class performed, they went so far as to change the words from “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” to:
We wish you a Happy Holidays We wish you a Happy Holidays We wish you a Happy Holidays And a Happy New Year!
While that was mildly annoying (mainly because it screws up the rhythm of the song), what really got me agitated was that later in the program not only did they sing a Dradel / Hanukkah song, they also sang “Feliz Navidad”! So, apparently you can celebrate Hanukkah, and apparently it IS ok to say, “Merry Christmas” … as long as you say it in Spanish. Just don’t say “Merry Christmas” in English or you’ll spend the afternoon in the principals office. Ay Chihuahua!

Don't even get me started, same thing happened at Chris and Anna's school years ago - absolutely drives me crazy!!!
I always make a point of saying MERRY CHRISTMAS, never happy holidays....a lot of stores don'
t even let their employees say Merry Christmas in case it offends someone....

Merry Christmas to everyone!

wife of blaze.....

I agree Commish, it's nuts. What is even more nuts is whoever planned it that way saw no problem with Chuanukah and Feliz Navidad which says "screw you white Christians".

America. Gotta love it.

Happy Festivus!

I hate that... Do you remember that one Christmas when the Eagles played the Dallas Cowboys? It was 2006. The Great White Hope, Jeff Garcia led the Eagles to a convincing win over the Cowboys and it clinched the NFC for us.

I love X-Mas.

Since we're talking about being "politically correct"...
Let me say here "Sorry, lil' Pea"--

ANOTHER THING THAT MAKES ME CRAZY is using the word "X-mas" in place of "CHRISTmas". After all--we ARE celebrating CHRIST's Birthday--CHRISTmas!

old fashioned & stubborn

I only use "X"-Mas because I am a huge fan of Malcolm X. Instead of wearing a Santa Hat during X-MAS, I wear an "X" hat along with my Cross Color Jeans and 8 Ball Jacket.
