I thought I would Post something that absolutely No-one will care about...

The NBA Draft is Tonight...Shaq is now a Teammate of LeBron and in My Opinion, the toughest position to play in Basketball is....
  • POINT GUARD !

You are right on Pea!!!! The simple job is jog down and go to the wing and wait for someone to pick for u. Come off and receive a nice pass from the PG and dribble til you can't dribble no more and either slop up a forced shot or pass it back to the PG and start over again. Or, of course u can make a sloppy/careless pass into the overguarded center and then cut and expect him to give it back. The PG also has to recognize/anticipate the press @ full, 3/4, 1/2 court or trapping out of a zone. If your team gets caught by surprise watch how the coach yells at the PG. It's always the PG's ffault. The other prima donnas just "style" til the 'pill' arrives. Damn!

Point Guards are "WIMPS". They get knocked down and start looking for the ref to give them a call. Now the small forward must be quick, in order to come back and help the PG against the press. He must also be adept at handling "The Rock" in order to get the PG out of trouble when he picks up his dribble. He also must be innovative in order to get himself open to redeem the PG while said PG stands out front adjusting his Jock Strap. All the time the poor coach is yelling "Move the Ball". Said SF will then proceed to bury the 3 while the PG runs back down court chest bumping anything that moves including the Basket Stanchion. Sorry Stoney. Ask the manager to explain that.

Back in the day...I played either pg, 2guard or small fwd, so I am hardly biased. If he's a good pg he doesn't pick up the dribble but rather dribbles into the lane area and feeds the prima donnas who get the applause. The pg hustles down court to pick up the 'cherry pickin' opponents who have been given free range while the sf is stylin' and pumpin' his chest for the cameras. I know cause 'back in the day' I did that, after hanging on the rim and swingin' and then screamin' for the Altoona Nightly Newscast....but then none ah yez had the pleasure of seein me pirform. Funny how I lost that spring once I left the Blair County mountains.......Talk to yex later...gotta take my med's.

i was a pg that was considered a "scoring machine"! Once had 29 in the 2nd half as an 8th grader after my coach (Mr Sullivan) chewed me out in front of the whole team for "not shooting enough"! Got to my only "Big Stage" in HS and was told to "dish"...so I did. More than once I heard the coach yell from the bench, "NO!" when I threw up a shot! True story, first game I played after we lost the City, I played at Belfield Playground for a rec team of friends...worst team in the League vs #1 team...we kicked ASS, I had 39 and we had to make a run to our cars to avoid a Beating! Made me feel good! GOOD POINT GUARDS RULE!!!

Pea, you are correct. Good PG's rule. How else would any of them get 39 points? The point guard creed: "Don't give it up until you shoot it first." Ask Slim what is the toughtest postion to play in Basketball. He understands the game.

I know some people that watched the butt kicking today in person...
