The Cookers Angels Season has ended...(Total Chagrin)

In a devastating 9-2 Defeat today the Angels are out of the Playoffs! The Angels had 12 Errors today, not to mention "Mental Miscues". On the Bright side...Cooker had the two R'sBI! The whole "over 60 Softball League" got me to thinking. It looked like a Fun Time, Old Gassers plying their stuff. As a bystander, I could tell who the "athletes" were as opposed to the "Gym Rats". Usually, the Gym Rats were more agile and flexible than the Athletes. Then again the Gym Rats had no clue as to how the Game of Baseball is played...but they could run.
  • Bottom Line...I was inspired by what I saw!
  • I think I am going to look into a Softball League for some place in Montgomery County for next year. My initial idea is that we cannot limit it to 60+ people. We need to invite "The World" to the "Pee Softball League"!
Some random thoughts, since the Idea is just taking Root...
  • Minimum of Four Teams, more Teams are of couse welcome
  • No age Limit
  • The following paragraph is a Big Deal so pay attention...
Instead of asking people to gather players and Form their own Team, we would gather PEOPLE that WANT to Play, have 4 or 6 General Managers, and have a DRAFT!
  • NOW, stay with me here...Since we will have people in the League that are young, infirmed, indifferent and Bizzy...
  • WE will start the Season in April, with 4 Games...
  • Trading would be allowed during May, June, July & August
  • We would Finish the Season in September, with 4 Games!
  • Games would be played on Saturday or Sunday.
A Banquet will then be held in October where Trophies will be Awarded!
  • ARE YOU IN? (and I doubt that anyone that visits this Blog got thru the first paragraph)

from what I read on-line, the Angels Manager had a Beef with The Cooker & would not allow him to play the Hot Corner! Of course, if the Mgr Had allowed The Cooker to play The Hot Corner and The Cooker were lucky enough to snare a ground ball The Cooker would not have been able to TOSS the ball to the First Baseman! (inside scoop, Cooker & Mary are about to schedule a Dual MRI Session)

Cooker here...yes, I cannot throw at the present time, but I played second base and first & catcher. It's hitting that interests me and every game I got up at least three times...what fun! Nice guys, most of whom tried very hard, but I would say, most of them really didn't know the game..but it didn't matter,if you are dreaming of playing one more time and would like to give it a shot...now's your chance...believe me, you'll get "into it"...and maybe get a hit or drive in a run or make a great catch..so come on, sign up and we'll do the rest...age is only a number!

I like the idea about having a draft. What time is "Happy Hour".
