Bad Day...I need to try to Lighten Myself up...so...

I'll tell the Story of the First time I presented a Girl with Flowers...
  • Mother bought them for me, a Corsage
  • I was headed to the CD Sophomore Hop, 1962.
Barbara Stoller was my Date & she lived behind Sears on the Boulevard...I had no car so I walked to her House. Never told her I had no car & that we would be taking PTC to THE HOP...never entered my mind. Anyway, Mother put the Corsage in a brown paper bag and reminded me to make sure to take the Corsage out of the brown paper bag BEFORE I got to my Dates House...
  • I Forgot
  • Handed the brown paper bag to my Dates Mom and said...
  • "I'm Gerry! and I have the proper change for the Bus!"
Barbara Stoller was not impressed. This, of course was a few years before I became a Famous Member of the CD, '64 Basketball Team which was recently Inducted into the CD Hall of Fame...
  • A school, by the way, that will no longer Exist after this school year.
The last time I saw Barbara Stoller was around 1970 when, for some reason, I was in a Diner near The Boulevard & Cottman Ave and she was a "Biker Chick"!
  • by the way, she recognized Me
  • No way I would have recognized her...
She was Not wearing a Corsage!

Great story Pea. Another reason why you should NEVER shower a woman with flowers.

I remember that Stoller girl...she was stunning, in a 1962 kinda way..lots of Chiffon and hairspray as I recall...Gerry's tie was a 1and a half inch "rooster" tie, Robert Hall, I believe it was. Very Collegiate!

That is a great story, Pea. Your sons must be sooo proud! (I hope you didn't teach them everything you know about girls & dating).
