A Challenge in Memory of Dad...

WANNA HAB A SBELLING BEA ??? I think we and our children speak the English Language well. I find it Fun when we correct each other, or quiz each other about spelling and punctuation of language on the Blog. It is innate, Dad was a "wordsmith", he even made up his own words! The Blog has put Challenges out there in the Past:
  1. WIWO
  2. Bake-offs
  3. Bowling
...to name a few. No one took up the Challenge (other than a couple of Cheaters in the WIWO Competition with the handle, Triple A's) ! A New Challenge is being proposed by the Staff at the Gpea Blog....drum roll please...
  • A Family Spelling bee !!!
The winner will be presented with the Kamakazi Trophy! That's right, he may not have pronounced it correctly, but, He did get it Phonetically Correct! are there any mis-spellings or bad punctuation in this POST ?

"He did get it phonetically correct"

The capital (or big) H implies a higher power (e.g. God). It should have been a lower case (h) since it did not start the sentence.

Also, the word "Are" which is after the exclamation point should be capitalized.

I could point out other errors, but I will leave the scraps for those who arrived late to this party.

I must admit that in my old age I question the importance of perfect spelling. I read that the human brain doesn't look at every letter as it reads. If you have the first and last in the correct place and the rest of the letters in between the brain figures it out. So all that i before e except after c stuff isn't all that important anyway. Same with punctuation, capitalization, to, too, their, there, etc.

I'm just sayin'......

C'mon, Slim! You're embarrassing the Sisters of St. Joseph & St. Ambrose School (may he R.I.P)...
with that reasoning. Don't give in to the sloppy, slangy, spelling sitch-e-ation of today's "whatever" generation. No matter what "they" say or "what" you read somewhere, some things ARE important & spelling & grammar are two of them!

...Now, excuse me while I jump down from my soapbox...

The only way I agree to a Spelling
Bee is if every competitor is naked. You "guys" always find a way to cheat!!
