Have you ever seen Mt Rushmore?

  • Do you know where Mt Rushmore is?
  • Do you know who is carved into Mt Rushmore?
  • Do you know who did the Carving?
  • Do you care ?

Commish, these are becoming easier. Mt Rushmore is on the Tookany Creek Parkway. and whose face??? Has to be Stoney!! (Get it?)

Whilst a resident of the Cornhusker state I had the opportunity to travel to the Dakotas. Since We, I was with a native, were in the hood I suggested we go to see Mt. Rushmore. He, Harold was his name, said, "Why? It looks just like the picture. "


He was right. Been dere, done dat.

If you don't physically go there, you don't get to kick around the dirt that is still laying there when the Faces were Carved? You don't see the surroundings when you look at the "Picture"! You don't feel the History from your Family Room in Omaha? I had a friend whose wife wanted to go to Bermuda for vacation. He refused to go...when asked why he refused he said, "Why?" Cold Beer here, Cold Beer there, what's the Point?"

Saw a fascinating story on how it was built, and by whom and photos and all kinds of stuff...love PBS shows! Am I alone on this stuff?
