Sidewalks, Snow, Lawns, Grass, Windows & Teenagers...

For 12&1/2 years we have lived in a Row-House neighborhood. Sidewalks abound, postage stamp lawns are all around. Very few long driveways. We have a Double lot, which requires Double Duty in shoveling than most neighbors have to deal with. Of course, no-one dares shovel past the crack in the sidewalk that separates you from your neighbor!
  • Lawn mowing is an entirely Individual thing!
Some Mow often, some rarely.
  • In 12 and one half years not One teenager has ever asked me if he could Mow my lawn or Shovel my pavement, or Clean my windows!
  • For the Snow removal I would pay $20.00 (took me 35 minutes w/ a shovel). My wife does not insist I clear to the "black top"
  • For the Lawn I would pay $35.00...when Jason does it, it takes him about 25 minutes & he doesn't charge...when Michael helps, it takes about two & a Half Hours! But, there is not a blade of free flowing grass left on the Lawn! (have you ever met Michael's wife?) and Michael also doesn't charge.
  • For the Window cleaning I would pay $80.00 for inside & out. There are only 10 windows!
Judy Ann's Dad used to tell the story of his moving into a second floor apartment, he had a TV in his car and asked a Teenager walking by if he would carry it up the stairs for him (he offered the kid $20.00). The teenager grunted and kept walking...
  • Teenagers.....

If I follow thru on this retirement thing, I want to grass cutting job. I will only chrge 50.00 per hour. If Jason can do it in 25 mins I can do it in 50 mins since I would have to stop and talk with all the girls who walked by and whistled. Have the beer cold Pea!!!

Funny you should mention it. A guy i work with who had a heart attack a few years ago and is careful just said the same thing. Kids don't realize the bucks they could make.

I was married with a few kids and hurting for cash and it snowed pretty deep so i went up to Rising Sun Ave. And asked store owners if they wanted their sidewalk shoveled and told them to pay what they wanted. Shoveled for hours, back was hurting but made a couple hundred and was a hero when i got home.

You could do that today with a snowblower.

More politics...is Liz a Republican or a Democrat? It does not say...

49,000 people live in her County in Arizona & it took 10+ years to realize there was $38 million dollars missing? Imagine what is goin...
