I actually appreciate what we learned back then because now when someone has a question I sound like a genius, a rare feeling for me, when I have an answer.
The nuns get a really bad rap as far as I'm concerned. Some were cranky old ladies and some we, the 60, 70, 90 classmates I had, made them like that. I received an education that was lacking in science, good in basic math and excellent in english, writing, poetry and art. Where else would I have learned about poetry and art? Not on "D" St. The guys I lived with got their culture from SPORT magazine. Although I did have a sister, not a nun a sister, who SAYS she played the bass in the orchestra. I never saw here play it or practicing but that's another story.

How about if we have a major sporting event without Referees, Umpires, Judges or Stewards? I Love that a 65 to one shot did ...

Slim, I agree with some of what you said...I did learn to spell, write, add & subtract, and a few other things that i've carried thru life...but I got a little tired of the stupid discipline and "self control" d's on my report card..enjoyed the penny pretzels, the "hall", the friends, box of candy at Christmas, schoolyard...mmm, yea that's about it for now...good blog though!
you opened my eyes Slim, how can she say she played the bass when we never owned a bass and none of us ever saw her play a bass? By the way sis, the BM's are looking for a new bass player. They'll pay you Cash...
Anybody see my trophy for the 30 yard dash? I was the fastest 8th grader to the Coke room when they called "ladies choice" at the Friday night 25cent dance in The Hall. Couldn't come out of the Coke room with a soda.
Was it the "Coke room" or "coat room"? Sis, you were there when they built the place, which was it?
I'm not speaking to you "BOLD ARTICLES"!
It was "CLOAK" room...for real. In the old days people wore cloaks...look it up!
Pea is right...If you can sing a little, we're holding auditions tomorrow at noon...we play at 8:30pm...
Any need for a "Cow Bell" virtuoso?
