- I have no clue...at one point I was in the 5th Army but, I don't know what I was in after that. I was a truck driver, a cook, worked in the Motor Pool, Guarded some stuff and generally did what they said to do...I am forgetful of what they had me do...perhaps I was Brainwashed and did Covert stuff...,
- BUT...
- I do remember that I was in Pack 316 as a Cub Scout and we met at least once a month and I had a Patch that Mother sewed on my shirt to prove it...
How come none of us went on to become Boy Scouts, or even Eagle Scouts ? The little I know about Scouts I'm told it takes a special person to be an Eagle Scout.
- Are your kids/Grandkids Scouts?

You have to be from Guhnooton Hooten, Ohio to be an Eagle Scout. That's what Uncle Buck told me. He served in the Big One; The Akron Old Lady Across the Street Campaign of 1989.
I was a proud member of the 330th Engineer Battalion and I served alongside Cousin Tommy Schaeffer and Rick Wise. Cleaned the same weapon 72 times from 7/68 to 7/74.
Support your local draft dodger.
Thinking of those Cub Scout days they were a hassle for Mother & Dad. They had to take us to meetings, make Water Wells out of coffee cans, Totem Poles left over from Palm Sunday and Headdresses, like we were Indian Chiefs. That's why they bought me Converse sneakers @ Cooper's to steer me in a different direction...The Converse All Stars were $6.95...I Loved them!
I have a vague memory of those wishing wells.. I think the paint was still drying as you ran to the meeting.
Mother and Father or Mom and Dad? Just wondering...
And why do the Phillies not have "Philadelphia" written on their away jersey???
Proud to say: 1st Airborn LSC ROTC 1962.
Musta been scary jumpin' outta those biplanes way back when Mr. Gay.
Got my draft notice summer of 1966..rejected me, flunked the phsical, granted me a 4F classification...somethin' 'bout a heart valve as i recall...grew my hair, went to LaSalle, followed Gay...off to SFC...life began..rest is history...look it up son!
Bring Back The Draft!!!!!
Eagle scout and proud of it.
As usual, it is difficult to follow a Stream of Thought thru Blog responses. Especially when there are 10 Comments, somehow we went from Scouting to, Engineering Battalions & Airborne Missions, Bi-planes, Draft Notices, Wishing Wells & why the Phis don't have the name of their City on any Jersey they wear? I will add..."Bucks parents never bought him Chuck Taylor High White Converse sneakers"? And, thus, he became an Eagle Scout? Good for you Buck! That is something to Boast about...Eagle Scout!
