Foreign Travel & ID Questions

The only time I have been in a Foreign Country was under the auspices of our Government & therefore never had to concern myself with Visa or Passport matters. So, for example, if I want to take a 2 week vacation to...
  • Mexico
  • France
  • England
  • Russia
  • Ireland
  • Where-ever...
Would I be required to have in my possession my Visa &/or Passport at all times in these Foreign Countries I was visiting in order to prove to the Authorities that "may" ask me where I am from & why I am in their Country?
  • When you travel to a foreign country I am told that they tell you to always have at least your Passport with you at all times
Can you feel the Political vibe running through this Post as it relates to the new Arizona Law?

I would say "yes", when you travel internationally, always have your passport with you. I always kept it in a pouch around my neck, under my shirt. I've also been told never give it to anyone. Why travel internationally? How about seeing parts of the good ol' USofA that you've never seen? If you go to a foreign country, they have a different word for everything. If i remember correctly, you have a hard time hearing English, a foreign language will drive you nuts. I've been there, I had a roaring headache on my first trip to Asia - I couldn't hear all the soft talking people, even tho' they spoke very good English. Second trip to Asia I had 'the devices', went much better. Enough about me...what do you think of me?

if you have a passport, why do you need a Visa? What is a Visa? a credit card?
