In Phila we have Blue recycle Bins & the Recycle Rules are as confusing as this Dylan song...

You can get fined $50.00 for not following the proper rules! Go to the Phila Streets Dept re-cycling Web site and they are as confused as most people are as to what is proper recycled material & what is not!

• To make matters worse, they now have "TRASH POLICE" patrolling your street on trash day!
• And they carry video cameras to film your violation!

As a result, Phila residents are "Tangled up in Blue" as to what to do on Trash Day...

• TheMcKendry Bros are to perform this Saturday @ Shanachie, Edward can't make it and the Cooker says he's going Solo! He has not told Management that Blaze will not be there, he intends to tell them that Blaze had a last minute Emergency...I am thinking I should show up with the Cooker pretending to be Blaze , act like I am aggravated while I am making believe I am  hooking up the Sound System. Who would know that a Switch took place? Other than I cannot play a guitar. No problem...once under The Spot-Light I can fake a finger cramp and defer to The Cooker! Do you think it will work? I can also act aloof like the real Eddie does and snicker and sneer too...and also refuse a Beer when a Fan wants to buy me one...well, maybe not that one. Do you think it will work?

Regarding High Def TV & some Tips from Jason...

He tutored me that if I hit channel 3, 6, or 10 the screen asks "watch in HD?" and if you click the OK button it takes you to the HD version of the Channel. You need to be quick with the Clicker to do this.  Also, if you watch "On Demand" Movies you need to go to the On Demand HD channel to request them to get HD Movies. Scroll thru the 200 HD Channels and you will see it.

PPS...Jason yelled at me "if you don't watch the HD channels when you are paying for them then you should just flush about $20 to 40 dollars a month down your toilet"!

The Phillies Announcers...

In my opinion...The Phils need to address their announcer team this off-season. Tom McCarthy seems like a real nice guy but he has no Pizazz... and an ordinary voice.

• Wheels...should stay
• Gary Mathews...should stay
• Scott Fransky(???) should be on TV
• Larry Anderson should stay & partner w/Franskie(???)

In my opinion the Best Partnership was Harry & Whitey in their Prime...

This is an Incredible story! In 1986, Peter Davies was on holiday in   Kenya after graduating from  the  University of  Toronto  .   On a hike through the bush, he came across a young bull elephant standing with one leg raised in the air.   The elephant seemed distressed, so Peter approached it very carefully.   He got down on one knee, inspected the elephants foot, and found a large piece of wood deeply embedded in it.   As carefully and as gently as he could, Peter worked the wood out with his knife,   after which the elephant gingerly put down its foot.   The elephant turned to face the man, and with a rather curious look on its face, stared at him for several tense moments.   Peter stood frozen, thinking of nothing else but being trampled.   Eventually the elephant trumpeted loudly, turned, and walked away.   Peter never forgot that elephant or the events of that day.      Twenty years later, Peter was walking through the Toronto Zoo with his teenaged son.   As they approached the elephant enclosure, one of the creatures turned and   walked over to near where Peter and his son Cameron were standing.   The large bull elephant stared at Peter, lifted its front foot off the ground, then put it down.   The elephant did that several times then trumpeted loudly, all the while staring at the man.   Remembering the encounter in 1986, Peter could not help wondering if this was the same elephant.   Peter summoned up his courage, climbed over the railing, and made his way into the enclosure.   He walked right up to the elephant and stared back in wonder.   The elephant trumpeted again, wrapped its trunk around one of Peter legs   and slammed him against the railing, killing him instantly.      Probably wasn't the same fucking elephant.         This is for everyone who sends me those heart-warming bullshit stories.

But, I did want to report that my Samsung Home Theatre is Up & Running! Jazmus came over this week & put the final touches on the Audio portion. I now have "Surround Sound"! If only I could hear it...

• I have 5 speakers
• 2 speakers up front
• 2 speakers in the back
• and one "center channel" Speaker

A point of interest...the two back speakers are 42 years old. I bought them in Saigon in 1968 & had them shipped home.

A Fish Tank Update

The "Little One" I discovered on Friday has not been seen since Sunday AM. I'm actually sad about it. But! Such is Nature...
In other Fish Tank News...

• I eXchanged (vacuumed) 14 gallons of my 30 gallon tank today 
• put in a new Filter
• cleaned the glass both inside & out
• and observed, closely, the behavior of my 2  long tailed sharks. They were despondent...
• "yellow tail" & "reds" need female company! Tomorrow I am headed to  my Fish Man for 2 Female sharks!  

Phillies Game Rules

1. You should always wear an official Phillies hat to a Game
2. You should always bring your Binocs...I don't care how close your seats are!
3. A wife beater tee shirt always looks good!... it Tells the people around you "I take no !@#$%"!
4. Always go to a Japanese Restaurant for a pre-game meal
5. Sun Glasses are a necessity
6. ...and Finally, when it comes to Cholly ManU it's all "Thumbs Up"
7. oh yea, a Glove is optional (when w/ women & kids it's recommended) 

TWO things pleased me Tonight...

1. I saw the BM's doing their thing at Shanacchie in Ambler and  they are still Relevant. Of their first 20 or so Songs I had to ask Jason or Courtney who did the original on at least 10 of them! They keep Progressing. I had to leave early (a bowlzee attack!) but I understand that they had the House Rocking into the night. Plus...The Cooker  has a paying Solo Gig booked for Saturday Night!
2. AND THIS NEWS IS EVEN BIGGER!!!  There has been a BIRTH in my fish tank! Yes, while feeding my fishies before setting out to see the BM's a Little One appeared out of the tank plants to forage for food! I could not believe it! I saw it again when I got home. One of the larger fish chased it & I almost put my hand in the tank to stop it. Fish will eat their own! So, I am hoping that the Little One will be savvy enough to survive. We will see...

In July of 2009, he and his brother and his Father started riding their Bikes from the Arctic Ocean to Argentina...they did it! The last photos I saw of them on their Blog were taken in Cuba. How they got from Argentina to Cuba is not clear.
