Pelosi backs Wisconsin protesters
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi came out strongly in support of Wisconsin teachers and students who are protesting Gov. Scott Walker’s proposal to public employees of collective bargaining rights.Pelosi told reporters Friday that the protests are “an extraordinary show of democracy in action.”
“Wisconsin's workers, teachers and public servants must have a seat at the table to fight for a safe workplace,” she said. “I stand in solidarity with the Wisconsin workers fighting for their rights, especially for all the students and young people leading the charge.”

WTF??? (Win The Future)
Liberals are all about helping the downtrodden; just as soon as they fill their own pockets. Get their 100k, THEN balance the budget.
Nancy Rules!!!
Moan and whine dramatically about socialsim and big govt. yet the same whiners want to select groups and define what they can and cannot earn. Back up a bit and consider how they attain those earnings. Most attend graduate schools for yrs. (some go to night school for 8 1/2 yrs continually thru the year and summer sessions)and some continue on for a 2nd graduate degree. the result, they end up working 8+ hrs./day (7:15am to 3:45) and often later for meetings or parent appts. Most nights lesson plans and tests to mark. Many work throughout the summer on special projects. Most districts have switched to shared retirement plans, just like most businesses. Communities w/ a teacher roster to brag about (teachers' crdentials) is most happy to demand higher values for all housing. Just like popular whining about doctors "who charge way too much" I always mention that when your child is sick you don't look for the cheapest doctor or the bargain care at the hospital. If cheaper pricing or half assed doctor care is what you want then just keep cutting doctor's earnings. Like magic you'll start getting doctors who couldn't formerly get into medical school. The best minds have options and will go to business graduate school for finance degrees. Weed out the underperformers, yes, but understand earnings are a large part of attracting high performers. I know personally how low teachers' earnings can go. Blame should be placed w/ weak kneed district negotiators and politicians. Teachers unions have gotten powerful be/ it's a highly educated and intelligent group who has attained their status and earnings be/ of our "Free Enterprise" sytem of govt. and the freedom to bargain collectively which is an essential part of our fabric of American life. Maybe more groups ought to organize. Let the 'free market' (which righties love to promote when it suits their cause)rule school districts, i.e., low pay for low performers. Owners, school districts, companies will only grant workers crumbs unless they're forced by collective bargaining. Be careful about "listening" too much to radio/tv/ and self serving bloviators and think for yourself. Every single bloviator has a selfish motive. What's wrong w/ social services? Corrections need to made but I'm disgusted w/ rhetoric that demonizes people's real needs. Not all are 'playing the system'. When I hear the congress proposing cuts to their many bene's and earnings I'll listen to social cuts. How 'bout we end the disgusting wars IMMEDIATELY. Can you define why we're still in Afg. and Iraq. Think we'd save a little on debt service (we've financed that mess w/ China money and it's not considered part of the budget....absurd).
End of my anger.....know of what you bitch. Learn to be fair to all during these hard times. We're all patriots. Not just the one's who bloviate. I'm sick and tired of teacher bashing by people who have never taught. Nicole worked hard and missed alot of social time to attain two graduate degrees. She'll hate me for my comments but I don't care. I taught and I know first hand how difficult it is to motivate stupid kids who come to school w/ no idea. Parents bitch and moan about teacher costs but don't hesitate to demand excellence and most do NOTHING to help their kids. Where can you get real quality @ cheap price? At a restaurant, a car, a house, clothes, jewelry, medical care or lawyers service, NO, and you can't get it by SOCIALISING teacher's earnings. Quality demands quality compensation. Negotiate like hell and expect to compromise.....both sides of an issue usually have valid demands. Last thought, you ready to have society dictate your earnings?
Stoney has obviously missed the point of the entire uproar in Wisconsin.
