The two shirt strategy was for absorption. It didn't work... first time i've ever sweated completely thru two shirts while playing music. Honestly, it had to be 90 in that cellar - with no open air at all. There were two windows and they were closed, and only Miguel and I were really sweating. Carl didn't even bead-up!!! I kept thinking Ray would grab a fan from somewhere, Michael said he didn't have one. Who doesn't have a fan in the house??? I did bring a cooler of iced water, soda & beer. Good thing, or M & I would have been dehydrated fo' sho'...
Carol Crosby??? who the heck is that? But...what I find neat in this video is that Carl & Ray & Michael (& where is Pepsi?) were playing in our basement back when Eddie was about 10 years old sitting off to the side observing...40 some years later...and they are still playing...with Eddie...
GPea, that's exactly what goes thru my mind every time this gang gets together. Actually it's more like 45 years ago. Carl always mentions one session in the D Street studio where I was playing maracas while standing in the middle of some hanging coats... it was all part of our trademark sound. Anyone remember the big bass drum we used to have? Who brought that into the house? I have a photo of that somewhere, I will post it.
