Now-a-days, with the Ball that hit the dirt being replaced along with Players & Ball Girls handing them to Fans...

...how many Baseballs do you think are used in the average MLB Game?

  • And...what do you think MLB pays for one Baseball?

GPea: Game balls used +/- 300
Give aways (vip's) +/- 60

Per game total: +/- 360
Cost/game: +/- $900. Season (81 games) $ 73,000
p.s.: I wouldn't bet on the numbers

A pro baseball has to cost at least $3.00. I think they go through 276 per game. Many that you see the Ump or Catcher throw towards the Dugout are "Rubbed" back to useable & re-cycled into the Game... So, 280 x $3=$840 per game x 81 Games = $70,000 per season plus or minus a few thousand...Chump change in this day & age!
The real question is, "Why does the NFL put a Net up for Field Goals & PAT's?"
