A pro baseball has to cost at least $3.00. I think they go through 276 per game. Many that you see the Ump or Catcher throw towards the Dugout are "Rubbed" back to useable & re-cycled into the Game... So, 280 x $3=$840 per game x 81 Games = $70,000 per season plus or minus a few thousand...Chump change in this day & age! The real question is, "Why does the NFL put a Net up for Field Goals & PAT's?"
How about if we have a major sporting event without Referees, Umpires, Judges or Stewards? I Love that a 65 to one shot did ...
