For the uninitiated this is an example of a John Phillip Sousa Marching Song...

Susa was introduced to me by Dan Ragan in about 1969. He used to bring his Music to Sea Isle where we lived with "The Quiet Country" Band & Dan would play this Marching stuff LOUD while we were getting "dressed" to go out on the Town! The downstair tenant "Hawk" used to get psyched at the same time Dan did...although they frequented different Bars, Hawk & Dan always left in a "Flurry"

I was there that summer...it was a funny time for all of us...Danny was unique and a good buddy to all of us...I still miss him. The stories are often told, he was legendary...J.Phillips Sousa was one of his favorites..Pea and Dan, and Hawk...what a summer that was!
It was 1970, our first summer playing at Gallagher's Pub!

Ahh 1970. I was a rookie cop discovering what a cesspool North Philly was. The wonderful world of junkies, holdup men, burglaries and a lot of incompetent cops and bosses.

But I DID get engaged 8/15/70 to MOH.
