Some say the best Town to enjoy the Jersey Shore is Wildwood
Now, why you would want to go to the Jersey Shore is another Topic. Anyway, I visited the area recently & searched for some old haunts...could not find them. When I was in High School I remember thumbing it to Wildwood. We stayed in a 3 story Flop House, on the 2nd floor. It was filled with about 57 young people. It's where I first heard of Bond...James Bond, as Harry Wagner would sit on his personal Beach Chair on the sidewalk (there was a very small back yard & the Beach was 12 blocks away) reading Ian Fleming's James Bond novels aloud while the rest of us sat on the steps or leaned our backs on the two trees that fronted the place wondering how we were going to get something to eat & still have enough $$$ to get some old guy to buy us some beer & wine for Saturday night. I remember running down the Fire escape, more than once, and over the back fence & thru the back yards when the 4 Cops Wildwood had would slam in the front door. Why they never covered the back door I have no clue & I appreciated their laziness.
I also failed to find Wildwood Crest. I remember being there thinking my sister's boyfriend has a family that must be Rich since they had two houses! One of them "in Wildwood" and the other in Feltonville!
Anyway, my drive through Wildwood was Fun. It is a lively town...if that is what you are looking for at the Jersey Shore...Stone Harbor & Avalon are staid.

How about if we have a major sporting event without Referees, Umpires, Judges or Stewards? I Love that a 65 to one shot did ...

"STAID"....
now there's a word
not often heard.
me thinks a bird
created that word
...or maybe a Pea
was the one to see
staid is the word
it needed to be
I wish I could have travelled with Pea back in the Wildwood days...he had more fun than I did.
