I am doing a "Feeney Weeney " here! I Love Trains and we need train tracks this Christmas. I am offering The Pea's Place for a spot where we can build our Platform.
After all my brothers abandoned "D" St. I retrieved, along with other forgotten items, the box of trains. That was 1971. The box sat for about 10 more years.
A fireman/bricklayer friend from Kuhar days, Vinnie, did a brick job for me. I knew he was in to trains. I showed him the box and the battery had leaked and rusted, corroded a big part of the trains. He asked what I was gonna do with them. Having 4 daughters at the time who were not at all interested in trains, I asked if he wanted them. He said it would be a restoration project for him. His basement was filled with train tracks. He took them and knocked off some bucks from the job he did for me.
Pea...one of the most enjoyable blogs of all time! Me and my wife couldn't stop watching and laughing..I thought it was going to go thru his home...did I mention my wife was a "Jolly Trolley?" Fantastic blog!
