Dad "Quotes"...and notice how "touchy-wutchy" the 3 of us are in this photo! It is still one of my Favorites...
Me & TJ were watching the Phils & I asked him if he was ever CUT from a team. TJ said "almost".
He thinks it was 1961 (he was finishing 6th grade) & asked Dad if he was coaching the baseball team that summer. Dad said no. He was done with coaching. Plus, Dad said, "I don't want to coach because I don't want to have to CUT you".
My Dad quote...1964. "Gerry, your Mother & I & Father McCrackin think you should enter the Seminary".
Do you have a "Dad quote?"

How about if we have a major sporting event without Referees, Umpires, Judges or Stewards? I Love that a 65 to one shot did ...

"Pea Dad Quotes..."
"Don't have a 5th on the 3rd or you'll ruin your 4th"
"If the right one don't get 'cha, the left one will"
"It's time to get up and start pissing, the world's on fire!"
"Murphy..."
My quote is eerily simular to yours Pea..."Michael, your Mother and I and most of the neighbors, think you should move out!" ...actually, here's another one that comes to mind..."yes officer, that sounds like my son Michael..he lives in St.Francis College, here's his phone number...he's been trouble ever since he picked up that guitar!"
Here's my memorable quote from Dad:
"Alyce, you are MY favorite. Your Mother and I, and all of the neighbors, think you should stay single or enter the convent. After all, as the sole beneficiary of our estate, you could--and SHOULD--live here with us forEVER! (Just don't say anything to your brothers.")
Why didn't you listen to your Father?
Who you talking to Gay? Cause I did what he said I should do...
"Luke, I am your father..."
When asked why Dad didn't let Michael see the letters he received from several Major League Baseball teams, expressing interest..Dad in his infinite wisdom unilaterally decided to "keep them hidden, rather than share them with Michael"...said in his 85th year of life, when asked by Michael "why didn't you tell me?"...said..."Nah, you didn't have it!" ... sigh!

well... where do i start? How about the year i was playing baseball for GA with Robin Roberts as coach, and Dad and Marie told me they thought I should quit the team and get a job at the butcher shop with Tommy McGowan. i think he secretly wanted me to cut my fingers off so i couldn't play the guitar.
In spite of his viscious comments he was a good Dad who taught me to NEVER lay a hand on my kids, NEVER compromise my integrity, NEVER let a bully intimidate anyone while in my presence and NEVER kiss anybody's ass, no matter what you might gain if you did.
Some may question his philosophy some question his demeaning nature, some question the way he expressed his love but I don't think we ever quetioned he cred about us.
TJ (the guy who ended Big Jack's coaching career)
Well said TJ...I miss him. I wish parents lived forever, then we could talk it over as we all got older and talking wasn't so difficult for them.
