Message to Gerry

A while ago, I was going through some old tapes and found this one. Pretty amazing...

Before anyone surmises...this was posted by Eddie...gives me Chills. It was a tape sent to me, not a phone call...makes one think that Family is more special than we sometimes practice.

While at the former "Bent Elbow" someone came up to me & said, "you look just like your Dad" I said, "would you expect me to look like the Mailman?"

Good post 'dward!

HOLY SMOKES! WHERE did THAT come from? WHEN was the party? WHY wasn't I invited? I never knew this existed.

Sad (and nice) to hear the voices of those no longer with us...

Thanks for sharing, Blaze & Pea.

I found a bag with old reel to reel tapes and started listening thru them. Found this gem and it took my breath away. To hear Dad doing his 'MC-ing' thing made me remember his schtick at the St. Ambrose sports banquets. To hear Mother sing brought tears to my eyes. The voices are so powerful. Remember to document your life moments and create memories for your families too. Someday your kids and grandchildren will treasure them like we treasure these.

I was at that party and remember it well..you have to love the tone of Uncle Tom's voice when talking to Dad..I remember as a boy I always thought he was "pissed off" and angry when he talked to Dad...I didn't understand it, the way he talked..funny what you remember. To hear their voices is just wonderful..I can see them when I hear them. Thanks Edward!

Agree MP. Hearing Uncle Tom's voice made me quiver in fear again, just like when he would visit "D" St. Those dark eyes could look right thru you.
