Our 1st look @ Michael's new Birthday Martin!

Took him 5 months to decide what Martin he wanted...they (he & EJ) travelled to NY to purchase  it.
Now that's a nice Birthday present!

Michael told me he likes the size, style, tone & Buff of his new Martin and I agreed. (what would u have said?)
  • By the way...this is a Grateful Dead song & they do it well!

Michael's new guitar is a beauty. He just got a pickup installed and it sounds great too. I should point out that both guitars used in this video are the same models, 00028-EC (Eric Clapton signature models), with different finishes. I think Martin should be paying us for using their instruments.

We're spoiled, I suppose..long way from the Gene Autry "wind up" plastic guitar I got in 1954...and a long way from the first wooden guitar I ownded, gifted to me by Gerry's buddy Mike Kempski, during my 1964 convelescence...it was a "Blue" guitar with a shoestring strap..very cool for it's day!

I think there were three guitar mishaps in my time. Not sure if I remember correctly but, I remember a guitar strap coming off a guitar and it fell and hit the concrete cellar floor. I also remember walking into the front bedroom holding a guitar and I forgot to turn sideways thru the doorway and the guitar "may" have gotten caught up on the doorframe... and I also remember sitting on the couch playing Michael's 12-string Gibson. Smitty was sitting next to me. I must have been lost in the music because I never notice Smitty had chewed on the headstock while I was playing and did some decent damage. I do believe ALL of these guitars were primarily Michael's... sorry about that.
