The year was 1953, I know because it was the year I got a red hot marshmallow stuck to my navel...Tom Staley turned to show everyone how brown & red hot it was and the "MALLOW" stuck to my stomach, since I had my shirt off and was workin' on my tan...screaming, I ran to the creek, dove in, navel first, and quickly floated down to the falls, belly on fire, where cousin DAN fished me out, shortly before I went over the falls into a 100ft canyon, filled wit snacks, er, snakes...and everyword is true..look it up! ..the RED HOT MALLOW part is gospel true,,,the other part, I ain't so sure, it was a while ago and I was delirious from Mechanicsville Fever! After I got fished out the creek, Mother put some butter on it, still got the scar, swear to Phil onit!
That's a great picture! I never saw that before. As for "the naval marshmallow incident", I never heard that story, either!! But, why am I not surprised by it?...only Michael......!
The mallow story is true. I was 7, tubing in the creek & Michael floated by me screaming. My tube kept spinning me to the shore so I could not catch him...Dan was keeping a 6-Pack cold downstream & was fetching it...so that was fortunate...

I remember it. I came late to the picnic; had to work, but I remember giving Dad gas money to get home.
