- It takes quite a while to recover from a Popped Hammy. quite a while...
So...want to ask me about the two times I Popped a Hammy? No? well I'll tell you any way!
- First time was a Touch Football game organized by Joe Gavin @ Central High. I was crossing over the middle on a "fly route" and it felt like 2 Rubber Bands snapped!
- Second time I was water skiing, trying to show off in front of my sons. I got up, pulled the Hammy and waived & smiled at them. They cheered, I cried

the thing that impresses me the most is that you have kept that 'hammy' photo nearby through all of the times you've moved your home. you finally got to use it, lol.
I wonder if Granny Hammner ever popped a Hammy?...Granny Hammy..I too popped one playing baseball, hit a ball a mile, cruising round 2nd, boom! never did touch home plate...ouch! thought I got stung by a "sidewinder".

Speaking of football injuries, did I ever mention the time I knocked out future Heisman Trophy winner, john Cappaletti during a scrimmage against Bonner at Camp Arrowhead in the summer of 1967?

Good question Tshirt. I was thinking the same thing. White guys can show people the nasty discoloration & get sympathy. Black guys point to the injury & say, "this is where it hurts. Look at that". And people will just nod their heads, pretending sympathy...
