What's the history of the bar top? Did T.J. build it? What kind of wood is it? Looks like Carolina Yellow Pine? or North African Cocoboa? or East German Spruce or Lower Feltonville Sycamore or...maybe it's Hawaiian Koa...us woodworkers want to know Pea.
It's walnut. It came from a local farmer. He and his bride planted it the day they were married, 54 years ago. The tree was hit by lightning a few years ago and split in two.
A few days after that, his wife packed her bags and left him. 54 years down the tubes. I offered him $50.00 and he accepted it. He said for another $10.00 you can take my wife too.
