Michael and I spent a couple of nights with the Hikers at Carl Weigand's house in Stone Harbor, NJ. We did some recording and it came out real nice. Here's one of the songs...
"Midnight at the Sun" is a song written by Carl, inspired by the story of Sun Studios in Memphis, Tennessee - where Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Roy Orbison started their careers
Check it out.

I am not Lying here! You guys doing a session in Stone Harbor 50 years after you guys did sessions in the basement on D street makes me jealous! I envy your talent & friendship...& by the way, what ever happened with my reel-to-reel tape recorder that I also purchased in Hong Kong & had shipped to D Street?
Was that Wollensak recorder yours Pea? I always wondered where we gotit...let me know.
Way to represent the Puckett Brothers T!
I have been thinking about the Wollensak and I think I am wrong when I claim to have purchased it in Hong Kong. I know I bought it and I know it went missing but I now believe that I bought it when I was working in New Jersey w/ Dad @ Aluminum Shapes! We were the original "Tin Men"...we commuted together and I remember we stopped off @ Butch's Auction on the way home from work. I saw the "electronics" display, had $$ in my pocket...Dad said, "Wollensak? that's the best reel to reel you can buy, go for it" So I did..
So...question is...who took the Wollensak?
My guess is it hit the curb with all the other stuff...check with Zita..what a shame, I loved that recorder!
Cooker, I think you are on to something. The Wollensak hit the curb in the Spring of 1971 & Tony Aqualino found the Wollensak out front of our home, trash picked it & gave it to Mitchell. Tony justified his actions cause one of us borrowed his "Putt" in the Summer of 1969...
If we really want one, look what i found on eBay
