Great game today on TV.
Texas is pretty much in but the Angels still have a shot!

Why I have always liked Baseball since I was young:

We played it at the Rec
Had no glove or bat
just showed up
and Mr B put us on the field

Dirt Grass & Cinders
Mr. B hands you a bat.
Somebody throws a ball at you?

you take a swat at the ball!

Run the bases...we just knew how to do that.

We progressed...Eddie Bowler found a wallet
on Wyoming Ave.
Had $55.00 in it. The 6 of us walked to Coopers on 5th Street.

Eddie B. bought us 4 Gloves, 6 Bats, a Catchers Mask
and a whole bunch of baseballs!

I was about 11 at the time

and baseball just got more Fun...

What a Game the Rangers & Angels had today!

Hope to see Cole Hamels do well for Texas in the Post Season.

Pea..I was one of the 6 who walked to Cooper's Sporting goods store at 5th & Wyoming..u forgot to mention he also bought 6 Blackhawk "sew on" patches..we had an instant team. Mom immediately sewed those patches on our tee-shirts and man, was I proud of that shirt! Long before "silk-screening" T.J. Great memory. Eddie Bowler is also the guy who picked a fight with the wrong guy, while we played some baseball at the rec...The Dutch pummeled him silly around 2nd base..it wasn't even close...every word is true!

Cooker, I hope you are not talking about me. I have no PUGILISTIC tendencies. Oh yeah... I remember one day at Whitemarsh Country Club where I was protecting a few Caddies. Other than that OH Wait, there was an evening at B & Wyoming where a certain individual thought he could use my back to get closer to the Rim. Not a good decision on his part. The Dutch, Gay Caballero
