This Post is almost 10 minutes long and was prompted by Scott Cav.
Plus! I know people that have had knee replacements, I also know people that need a
knee replacement. And furthermore, I used to deliver "Instruments" to a guy that sold
knee replacement paraphanalia & was in the OR & assisted in this stuff!

Once had a very interesting/demanding career as TJR salesman (total joint replacement) and had pleasure of viewing up close & personal approx. 1200+ joint replacements....saw also, brain surgery while the patient sat on a fancy chair and listened to a nurse talking sports to him, a Heart transplant and seeing the pt. blood running thru a series of filters outside the body while the surgery continued....also saw a benign tumor (basketball size) removed from a very naive/dumb woman who presented self to doctor thinking she had a strange pregnancy....
Watched talented Vet surgeons work on a huge race horse at Uof PA Vet hospital in Chester Cty.....surgeons are brilliant, some more than others, who do incredible operations everyday.
