So I was doing some math

President Obama was in office for 8 years. It is estimated that he deported 2.5 million illegal immigrants during those 8 years...in some circles he was known as The Deporter-In-Chief.

Now, in President Trump's second week in office the ICE immigration cops arrested about
160 people in LA and people are going bonkers!
http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-immigration-arrests-20170209-story.html
So back to the Math...
  • 8 years=2920 days
  • 2.5 million deported over 2920 days
  • = 856 deportations per day

but Trump is anti immigrant, ergo a Racist...

I believe this is the kind of Fake News The Donald was referring to at
his Rodeo Press Conference today...

it was bizzaro world...
Wolf Blitzer tried to rope a cow during his post
Press Conference show on CNN...

"There you go again.." The entire immigration issue is hugely overblown. Why? Because statistics/data (aka, 'facts') prove there are minimal numbers of immigrant criminals simply because Pres. Obama quietly deported most of them. One statistic which no one brings up, regrettably, is the amount of federal, state and local taxes paid by immigrants and the number of small private businesses they operate. Th grande orange one started the issue as a campaign issue to stir the innate bias/prejudices of people. Refer back to a press conference of George Bush where he stated, paraphrasing, "most of these people have been here a long time and are gainfully employed...we are unequipped to round them up...what are we supposed to do to gather these 11 million people, ride around the country in a yellow school bus and pick them up? The federral govt. doesn't have the forces to do this. Let's develop a good immigration policy, Congress." Another suggestion: while not as dramatic as the donald prefers, check out Philly Inquirer today 2/17,2017...Commentary page, "E-verify cheaper, more efficient than a wall).

Personally, I am friends with approx. a dozen Mexican illegals and I'd swear by every one of them. Very hard working, all started as dishwashers, many self employed (and employing other illegals), in fact I once attended a court hearing for one who drove thru a stop sign in Philly & was stopped by a Philly cop who cited him only for the stop sign offense but then turned him over to a state trooper & was incarcerated in York PA for 2 1/2 mos. Later he asked me to attend his hearing where a judge read a letter from his accountant and a letter I had written attesting to his honesty & diligence. She complimented him on his hard work & fact he has always paid taxes (with NO benefits). She then stated we should be embracing such ingenuity ....gave him a letter recommending him for permanent green card/eventual citizenship and sent him on his way....today, I'd estimate he manufactures $! million + of stone countertops and employs 6/7 TAX Paying illegals.

Issues are used by slimy politicians (redundant) for their own purposes. Issues are usually more nuanced they want to admit. It doesn't serve their purposes. People come to America for a better life....we all have ancestors who endured discrimination and hate and poverty. Don't ever forget that. They were criticized & isolated because they "didn't look or sound like 'normal' Americans. If immigrants are criminal, yes, throw them out. But to pretend to be a tough guy by breaking up families and destroying peaceful productive lives is a farce. Put yourself in place of these people who've been here for 15/20 yrs. and have young families (most of them are practicing Catholics who've invited me to a couple baptism parties). Being a tough guy is the thug way and not the American way (visit Ellis Island some time & do the entire tour & cruise around the island & listen to the recordings of the immigrant experience ....Mary Kelly & Philip McDermott included)....end of ramp......e fair/Be Christian .......

'brevity is the soul of wit' and back in Shakespeare's day wit was synonymous with intelligence. I know because back in my LaSalle College days I took a summer course on the wit of Shakespeare & I was really surprised how much I enjoyed my brief exposure to his wit...I was witness to it!
