In the old days (pre 2001) the luggage you traveled with was a status symbol.
The Skycap took it at the curb & they retieved it @ your final destination.
For us lesser folks we lugged our stuff through the airport,
checked it in & waited 'round the carousel for our bag to drop.
There was no extra charge for checked bags.
Todays world travelers carry their stuff on their person!
This is a pic of friends Sam & Kelly met in Granada.
It was taken the day they departed, headed back to their
home in Seattle.
Can't tell from the photo but I am guessing they are also
wearing fanny packs...you agree?
and Yes...I do own a fanny pack!
