I remember watching Al McGuire years ago and Al said...
Al said a whole lot of stuff, but what he said about basketball was you need an aircraft carrier in the middle of your Team team if your going to Win anything...you need an aircraft carrier in the middle!
Now, the Warriors have changed that thinking. They are the best with shooters,
movers and really good defenders. They have no aircraft carrier. But things will change.
The 76ers now have an aircraft carrier on their team...
and Joel's Mom even showed up tonight!

Finally!!!!!!! No stupid disruptive political commentary>>>>.thank you. Al M. was a fantastic coach who didn't try to make bball sound like physics, e.g., "look guys, nevah panic if ya down. Ask ya self, why are we down? Are they hittin' hail mary's or is their 6th man playin' unconscious? Relax...it won't continue...now if yah guys ahre playin' like their unconscious....ya gotta problem and ya bettah blow the bugle....." At end of seasons he'd tell Hank Raymond his longtime ass't. "get me some playahs and a carrier, if ya can....I'll see ya in a couple weeks"...then he'd hop on his Harley and ride to Canada or thru the Rockies....
He started at Belmont Abbey College and had all players wear hats in warmups, their own choice. It brought attention to the school and the playahs had a good time....
