We took a ride in the Soul today...

Drove through Chestnut Hill
Took a photo of the birth home of Jason Mck East Oak Lane
We were pleasantly surprised to see kids running on the front lawn of old CDHS.
It's now a Charter School. They still have not done anything with the grounds
behind the school.
We also visited The Court @ B&Olney
Location of the 1st ACHE obstacle course challenge which was won by
either Forest or Joe Gav?

We then drove by the Kane's old house/Engine 61 which is still there
and down Westford Rd.

St Ambrose former Church is also a site of a Charter School, we
saw many parents picking up kids after school.

D street was next.
Mrs Kauff was still there sitting on her porch
next door

Our old house still looked pretty good

Osterle's house not so good.
Kalstein's was stuccoed up
God Bless Mr Kalstein!
Suicide Hill was determined to be so dangerous that the City
blocked the Hill and locked the fence!
A drive down Wyoming Ave reminiscing and
a right at the Rec! Kids all over the place
in the blue on blue school outfits.
The old neighborhood looked much better than we
had anticipated!

We ended up having lunch @ Fire House Jack's
It was a fun day
Even though we never were able to find that pedestrian/bike
bridge that Mary told us she used to walk during lunch hour
back in the day!

Me & Michael figured we must have had the wrong map of the wrong bridge in the wrong city!

So we got a custard cone in Roxborough & went home.

Your descriptive narrative rivals Steinbeck and his Travels With Charley. Two adventurous lads travelling back in time to the good old days.

Sounds like a lovely day. Good to hear the old neighborhood is doing pretty well. Got a little emotional seeing "4918" again; lots of beautiful memories there. Thanks for the photos of your fun day!
