Very hard to believe, Harry.....just think, current and future voters, assuming they learn what the word means. One time when I visited Dad in the hospital, in trying to have a chat, I asked him about some current issues. He said, "John, I don't care anymore, I'm coming to the end and can't change anything. It's not the same world I knew." I left feeling a bit depressed about his spirits. The older I get the more I understand his spirits. EGADS!! What is happening to mankind??????
PS: a great Christmas gift for grandkids is a world globe. Purchase one with good graphics and texture to indicate mountains, etc. At least they won't believe the earth is flat....and coincidentally, we old goats will enjoy looking for obscure countries, like Great Britain, which includes Afghanistan, Brazil and, uhhh, I think, uuhhhh, Africa.....uhhh, no, uhhh, like uhhh, China, yea, China......
Why did I leave teaching high school (although I LOVED coaching bball)? I taught Asian studies from a book which was published 20 yrs. prior, and I had to teach 7 classes every day to frosh/sophomores in small town, USA. Most didn't know where VA was and they fell asleep when I tried to explain Asia on a map. I swear they were confused by the flat map, e.g., Eastern, Western hemispheres. I decided in about 15 mins. at the end of a day, on my way to practice, that I'd go nuts doing this for 35/40 more years, making $6500./yr.
Of course, everything got soooooooo much better when I changed course in life.......
Too many states missing to even bother!
