Little guys make us look Huge!
I weighed 170lbs in 1968 when I was an Army person.
These two were good friends. Never realized how small they were & why
Stan (the guy on the right with the glasses) auctioned me
off to challenge not the VC, but anybody that thought they were a
Baller in Long Bien!
Stan paid me a good bit of cash
for my efforts on the court. The bills changed colors & faces monthly
to combat forgeries...I suspect Stan took only US bills!
Stan promoted the whole thing for about two weeks. On a dirt court.
One on one. Stan knew I was a player.
He had games scheduled about three nights a week for two weeks.
I bought a reel to reel tape recorder/stereo speakers/a stereo receiver/
and lots of other stuff from my winnings...
I'm sure Stan made a whole lot more than me, but that's OK.
He did all the Promoting, I did all the Balling!

And if anyone is thinking I have a little bit of a gut in the Top Photo, that's because Stan had me wearing a "money belt"
during the two week Competition!
Good thing you didn't send the money home. Mother and Dad would have rented the shore house for the entire summer.
And you purchased me a beautiful purple/rose colored silk 'smoking jacket' with a slick ribbon waist tie, which, of course, I wore proudly although I've never smoked. If I'm not mistaken, those speakers are sitting in you luxurious pad right now. BTW: did you pay taxes on your winnings? I'm sure Dad asked you the same question.
