So they had to cancel the Woodstock 50 celebration...

Too many security concerns & bureaucratic BS!

It was only 7 years ago when Paul Simon pulled
off a Fun & exciting concert in Hyde Park, London.
Are those days over?

Pea, That is great stuff...just great! Simple, give the people a free concert with good jumping happy music and they'll be happy.....BTW: i slept in Hyde park one night until the Bobbies woke me about 5 am.....fell asleep later in the midst of a Sunday afternoon concert. Woke up and met three lovely Australians who thought it was hilarious that I slept while hundreds of Londoners listened, all around me, to a free concert in the park. I stayed with them for three nights and saw the best of London and nightly jazz clubs. Great people to enjoy, Aussies.

That band from Mozambique, I believe, was fabulous with paul Simon. The man on rhythm guitar, to his far left in baseball hat, was actually playing in Central Park when Paul invited him to join their studio sessions. He stayed on and there he was. Love those stories.

I knew quite a number of Aussies in my day. A crazy, fun loving' bunch.
I only knew where Hyde Park was from my Spy Novels...

jmk, Pea got a Photo of Hyde Park up there. Can you identify the tree you were sleeping under?

guess who said...

It's the tree with the plaque to honor an American vagrant in June 1974....as I recall, Weeping Willow....or, was it a bush? hmmmm....maybe a scrub pine.....love those memories. Why'd I come back? A beautiful young nurse from the French Alps who invited me to 'come to see her town"......"not now, I want to see Ireland first..."....later received pics and letter which was read to me by a former sister in law......in french.....a lifetime of bizzzzzare decisions. I'd be a ski expert, prolly.
