I follow most sports and I have a question.

At what point in a great athletes career should they call it quits?

  • Jim Brown retired too early. Or did he?
  • Barry Sanders was great when he called it quits...

Roger Federer, winner of 20 Majors & 7 or 8 Wimbledon
Titles got his butt kicked today by a 24 yo admirer!
Roger will be 40 in August.

Serena Williams is 39 & got injured in the 1st round.

Jeter spent 20 years with the Yankees.
He was still productive when he retired in 2014.

Michael Jordan was 40, playing for the Wizards when he finally retired!

And then we have Tom Brady, who turns 44 in August of 2021.

So...At what point in an athletes career should they say "I'm done"?

Phil Mickelson was not done! When on
the cusp of 51
he won his 6th Major golf title by beating a whole bunch of 'Flat Bellies!*
