Remember the Good Ole Days in Philly?

 https://www.inquirer.com/news/abandoned-cars-philadelphia-police-towing-20220424.html

In 2000, Mayor John F. Street made good on a campaign promise to fight blight, pledging to haul 40,000 junked cars off streets and city-owned vacant lots in just 40 days. The program focused on Kensington, North Philadelphia and Southwest Philadelphia, which, much like today, have the most abandoned cars.

Good hearted Gerald Pea (who lived in Philly at the time) had once given a young fellow his old 1983 Mercedes. The young guy was an aspiring mechanic that was struggling, working at the local car wash. He towed it away, told me he was working on it & it was looking Great! I told him we need to transfer the Tags & get the car out of my name! I never saw the guy again. He quit his job & moved out of where he was living. Six months later I got a $495.00 bill from the city for a towing fee for an abandoned vehicle in my name!

This was the car...it had serious rust problems.

So I paid the fine & moved to Lancaster...
